The Dirt
The Dirt plays the hits of the bands that owned MTV in the 1980s: Mötley Crüe, Poison, Def Leppard, Bon Jovi, Guns N’ Roses, Skid Row, Ratt, Whitesnake, Warrant and Twisted Sister. They say they hail from the Sunset Strip, in spirit anyway. They show up in leather, makeup and long hair, and they play the singles back to back.
The set draws on songs like “Girls, Girls, Girls,” “Pour Some Sugar on Me,” “Sweet Child O’ Mine,” “You Give Love a Bad Name,” “Talk Dirty to Me,” “Here I Go Again,” “Cherry Pie” and “Kickstart My Heart.” The band works casinos, fairs and clubs across Arizona, New Mexico and California.
The Venue
The Historic Lobo Theater has been on Route 66 since 1938. It is a 550-capacity room in Nob Hill with a balcony, a full bar and a real stage, at 3013 Central Ave NE. Street parking runs along Central and the side streets.
