SUMMARY:Paul Pino and the Tone Daddies Live at the Lobo Theater (Friday\, May 22)
DESCRIPTION:Paul Pino and the Tone Daddies live at the Lobo Theater\, Friday May 22\nPaul Pino and the Tone Daddies live at the Historic Lobo Theater on Friday\, May 22\, 2026. Doors at 7:00 PM\, music at 8:00 PM. The Tone Daddies are\, in the words of KUNM Espejos de Aztlán\, “a New Mexico institution\,” and Paul Pino himself a “New Mexico treasure.” Saturday-night sized show\, big-stage room\, original songs about this state and the people in it. \nThis is a ticketed theater show. Cover and ticketing details are TBA. Body copy on this page will update as soon as pricing is locked. \nAbout Paul Pino and the Tone Daddies\nPaul Pino and the Tone Daddies are a Sandia Park\, New Mexico based band built around Paul Pino’s original songwriting. The catalog is wide on purpose. Spanish-language rancheras and cumbias\, English-language country and blues\, rock and roll\, folk\, the occasional reggae cut\, and a long list of originals about New Mexico history\, landscape\, and culture. \nPaul was raised on a ranch near Carrizozo\, New Mexico. The bio his band publishes paints the picture: a kid at the top of a windmill at sundown\, transistor radio pulling KOMA Oklahoma City and stations from northern Mexico. Spanish poetry read out loud at the kitchen table. Stillness. Coyotes. Wind through barbed wire. Decades later that ranch is still the source water for the songs. \nPaul is also a chronicler of the New Mexico landscape\, in part related to his history as a Tularosa Downwinder. The KUNM Espejos de Aztlán feature framed it that way and we will let that framing stand. The songs do the rest of the talking. \nWhat you will hear: rancheras\, blues\, country\, and originals about New Mexico\nRoughly thirty Paul Pino originals have been played on New Mexico radio stations. “Toca Me Una Ranchera” hit number one on ReverbNation in the Indie category and top ten on KANW 89.1 FM. Four originals appear on “Best of KANW” compilations. “Las Estrellas De Nuevo Mexico” has served as the theme song for two different New Mexico radio programs. Other tracks worth knowing before the show: “Pasame La Botella\,” “Estrellitas\,” “Desert Paradise\,” “There Must Be Angels\,” “Dusty River\,” “Lawyer Blues\,” and “Too Old To Die Young.” \nThe live set pulls across that catalog plus New Mexico standards and well-chosen covers. The band call it Southwestern Folk Music inspired by life on the ranch in Carrizozo. You can call it whatever you want once you hear it. \nMeet the band\n\nPaul Pino: lead vocals\, rhythm guitar\, songwriting. Lifelong songwriter and singer. Carrizozo native.\nSmooth Mike Layden: lead guitar\, keyboards\, banjo\, vocals. Raised in Santa Fe\, two tours of duty in Vietnam\, 55 years on lead guitar. Toured with Junior Brown.\nMC Mike Campos: bass and vocals.\nSmiling Johnny Arater: drums\, vocals\, DJ. Toured with The High Chaparral Band. Has played the Kimo Theatre\, the Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta\, and the New Mexico State Fair. Drumming influences include Steve Gadd\, Paul Riddle\, Gene Cropper\, and Buddy Rich.\n\nWhy Lobo Theater for Paul Pino and the Tone Daddies\nThe Historic Lobo Theater is a 1938 Art Deco room on Historic Route 66 in Nob Hill\, Albuquerque’s premier live music venue. 550 capacity. Big stage. Full bar. ADA accessible. The room is the right scale for a band whose set moves between a Spanish-language ranchera and a country shuffle and an electric blues tune without losing the audience between songs. The acoustics let the harmonies and the storytelling actually land. \nNob Hill on a Friday night does the rest. Park on Central or one of the side streets\, pop into the Lobo\, plan to stay late. \nEvent details at a glance\n\nWhat: Paul Pino and the Tone Daddies\, Southwestern folk and original songs about New Mexico\nWhen: Friday\, May 22\, 2026. SUMMARY:Kaleidoscope at the Lobo Lounge: June 26 Pre-Show for One Last Funky Dollar
DESCRIPTION:Kaleidoscope at the Lobo Lounge: pre-show set before One Last Funky Dollar\, June 26\nKaleidoscope at the Lobo Lounge on Friday\, June 26\, 2026\, 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM. The Albuquerque four-piece cover band kicks off a two-room Friday night at the Historic Lobo. Their lounge set is the warmup before the One Last Funky Dollar funky-soul dance party hits the theater room next door. Stick around. Two bands\, one building\, one Friday. \nThis is a casual lounge set followed by a ticketed theater show. Walk in for Kaleidoscope at the Lobo Lounge. Grab a drink at the full bar. Stay for the funk. \nThe Friday June 26 flow: lounge first\, theater after\nTwo acts\, two rooms\, one walkable building. Kaleidoscope at the Lobo Lounge wraps at 8:00 PM. The One Last Funky Dollar set in the theater room runs through the rest of the evening. Step out of the lounge\, walk twenty feet\, walk into the theater. That is the entire transition. Ticket info for the theater show lives on the One Last Funky Dollar event page. Lounge cover for Kaleidoscope is TBA. \nAbout Kaleidoscope: Albuquerque four-piece cover band\nKaleidoscope is an Albuquerque-based four-piece interpretive cover band. Their signature is multi-layered vocal harmonies and reworked arrangements that pull from a wide catalog. Less paint-by-numbers\, more let-the-song-breathe. Lobo Theater own writeup of the band called it a “fun\, genre-spanning night\,” which is the elevator pitch. \nThis is the second of two Kaleidoscope at the Lobo Lounge dates in 2026\, after their May 15 lounge appearance. Same band\, same room\, different vibe. The May date is a standalone lounge set. The June 26 date is a pre-show kickoff for the theater room. \nAbout One Last Funky Dollar (the theater show after)\nOne Last Funky Dollar is a funky soul dance party. The show in the theater room runs the rest of the evening. If you came for Kaleidoscope at the Lobo Lounge and you are still standing at 8 PM\, the funky soul dance party is right next door. Best ten-foot walk you will take all month. \nWhy the Lobo Lounge works for a Friday pre-show\nThe Lobo Lounge is the front-of-house bar zone at the Historic Lobo Theater on Central Avenue in Nob Hill. Smaller than the theater room. More intimate. Big enough for a four-piece harmonized cover band\, small enough that the room feels packed before you walk into the theater. On a two-show night like June 26\, this is the pre-game. The pour-yourself-into-the-night spot. The harmonies-on-the-way-to-the-funk room. \nThe building is a 1938 Art Deco landmark on Historic Route 66. The theater room hosts the bigger ticketed shows. The lounge is where the relaxed weekly programming lives. Some Friday nights both rooms are firing. June 26 is one of those nights. \nEvent details at a glance\n\nWhat: Kaleidoscope at the Lobo Lounge\, Albuquerque four-piece cover band\, pre-show set\nWhen: Friday\, June 26\, 2026. 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM in the lounge\nAfter: One Last Funky Dollar in the theater room\, same night\nWhere: The Lobo Lounge at the Historic Lobo Theater & Event Center\, 3013 Central Ave NE\, Albuquerque\, NM 87106\nCover: Lounge TBA. SUMMARY:One Last Funky Dollar A Funky Soul Dance Party
DESCRIPTION:Get ready to shake it down at One Last Funky Dollar\, a high-energy funky soul dance party at The Historic Lobo Theater & Event Center on Friday\, June 26\, 2026. Albuquerque’s own One More Silver Dollar Band trades their usual southern-rock setlist for a horn-driven\, soul-saturated dance night — bringing an expanded lineup with a full ABQ horn section and Colleen Elvidge on lead vocals to The Lobo’s 550-capacity floor. \nWhat Is “One Last Funky Dollar”?\n“One Last Funky Dollar” is a special funk-and-soul-focused show by One More Silver Dollar Band\, the Albuquerque-based ensemble best known for their Allman Brothers Band tribute work. For these horn-section nights — affectionately called the “Funky Dollar” variant — the band leans into deep funk grooves\, classic soul\, and the syncopated rhythms that connect southern rock to the broader American songbook. Expect extended jams\, layered harmonies\, and a dance floor that doesn’t sit still. \nOne More Silver Dollar Band — Albuquerque’s Allman Brothers Heirs Apparent\nOne More Silver Dollar Band (also known as OMSB or OMSD) is one of Albuquerque’s most respected working bands\, dedicated to the music of the Allman Brothers Band and their extended musical family — Bob Weir\, the Tedeschi Trucks tradition\, and the broader southern rock and soul pantheon. Their shows are known for soaring twin-guitar work\, soulful vocals\, and a rock-solid rhythm section that locks in for serious extended jams. More info at omsdband.com. \nWho’s on Stage at “One Last Funky Dollar”?\nThe Funky Dollar lineup brings together the core OMSB band plus the ABQ Horn Section: \n\n🎸 Andrew Holcomb — Guitar\, Lead Vocals\n🎸 Phil Giuliano — Guitar\n🥁 Steve Hull — Drums\n🎹 Don Stevenson — Keys\, Vocals\n🎵 Michael Wiese — Bass\n🎤 Colleen Elvidge — Lead Vocals\n🎺 Doug Bellen — Trumpet (ABQ Horn Section)\n🎷 Carli Marshall — Saxophones (ABQ Horn Section)\n🎵 Travis Rourke — Trombone (ABQ Horn Section)\n\nEvent Details — Friday\, June 26\, 2026\n\nEvent: One Last Funky Dollar — A Funky Soul Dance Party\nFeaturing: One More Silver Dollar Band (OMSB) with the ABQ Horn Section\nDate: Friday\, June 26\, 2026\nDoors: 7:00 PM\nEnd: 11:00 PM\nLocation: The Historic Lobo Theater & Event Center\, 3013 Central Ave NE\, Albuquerque\, NM 87106\nTickets: $15 — available on Eventbrite or at the door\nAge: 21+ (full bar event)\nCapacity: 550 standing/dance floor\nAccessibility: ADA compliant venue\n\nWhat to Expect — Funk\, Soul\, and Southern Boogie\n“One Last Funky Dollar” leans into the dance-floor side of the OMSB catalog. Expect funk and soul cuts from the Allman Brothers’ deeper catalog\, James Brown-style horn punctuation\, and selections that range across Stevie Wonder\, Tower of Power\, Otis Redding\, and the funkier corners of the Grateful Dead’s repertoire. Colleen Elvidge’s lead vocals bring grit and elegance to the soul material\, and the three-piece ABQ Horn Section transforms what’s normally a guitar-led tribute into a full-on dance band. \nThe Historic Lobo Theater — Albuquerque’s Best Floor for a Dance Party\nThe Historic Lobo Theater is purpose-built for a night like this. Located at 3013 Central Ave NE in Albuquerque’s Nob Hill neighborhood — on historic Route 66 — the venue’s 550-capacity standing floor lets you get close to the band while still having room to dance. The full-service bar runs all night\, the original Art Deco architecture sets the mood\, and the building has hosted Albuquerque audiences since 1938. ADA accessible. Located on the Albuquerque Rapid Transit (ART) Central Avenue line. \nWhy Catch OMSB at the Lobo Theater?\nOne More Silver Dollar Band typically plays Albuquerque rooms like Fusion\, Marble Brewery\, and the Brewhouse — great venues\, but smaller and more bar-focused. The Lobo Theater date gives the band a real stage\, full sound system\, and the room to stretch out the way the music demands. For OMSB fans\, this is one of the bigger Albuquerque shows on the band’s 2026 calendar. \nFrequently Asked Questions: One Last Funky Dollar at the Lobo Theater\nWhat is “One Last Funky Dollar”?\n“One Last Funky Dollar” is a horn-driven funk and soul dance party performed by Albuquerque’s One More Silver Dollar Band. SUMMARY:Mojo Risin' A Doors Tribute Band
DESCRIPTION:July 3\, 2026 marks the 55th anniversary of Jim Morrison’s death — and there’s only one way to honor the Lizard King’s legacy: loud. Mojo Risin’ brings the raw energy\, dark poetry\, and psychedelic sound of The Doors to The Historic Lobo Theater & Event Center for one unforgettable Jim Morrison Celebration in Albuquerque — the city tied forever to one of the most formative experiences of Morrison’s life. \nThe 55th Anniversary of Jim Morrison’s Death — Albuquerque Has a Story\nJuly 3\, 1971 — Jim Morrison was found dead in Paris at 27. Fifty-five years later\, his myth refuses to fade. Albuquerque holds an unexpected place in that myth: as a young boy riding through New Mexico with his family\, Morrison came upon a highway accident — Native American men dying on the road. He would say for the rest of his life that the souls of those dying men entered him on that New Mexico highway. He referenced it in interviews\, in his poetry\, and in lyrics like “Indians scattered on dawn’s highway bleeding” from “Peace Frog.” For a Doors fan\, there’s no better place than Albuquerque to mark the anniversary of his passing. \nAbout Mojo Risin’ — The Premier West Coast Doors Tribute\nMojo Risin’ is based in Los Angeles — The Doors’ own hometown — and has built a reputation as the premier West Coast Doors tribute band. The group performs the catalog with reverence and authenticity\, from “Light My Fire” and “L.A. Woman” to “Roadhouse Blues\,” “Break on Through\,” “Riders on the Storm\,” and the deep cuts true Doors fans know by heart. They’ve played the legendary Whisky a Go Go — the venue where The Doors got their start — including the Whisky’s annual Jim Morrison Birthday Celebration. More at mojorisintribute.com. \nWatch the 2-Minute Promo\nGet a taste of the show before you buy your ticket: \n\nThe Band\n\n🎤 John Nagle — as Jim Morrison (the trademark buttery baritone and primal growl\, with a striking resemblance to the LA Woman-era bearded Morrison)\n🎸 Matt O’Neill — as Robby Krieger (virtuoso guitar)\n🥁 Eric Nagle — as John Densmore (drums)\n🎹 A talented rotation of keyboard players — in the role of Ray Manzarek\n\nEvent Details — Friday\, July 3\, 2026\n\nEvent: Mojo Risin’ — A Doors Tribute (Jim Morrison 55th Anniversary Celebration)\nFeaturing: Mojo Risin’ (Los Angeles)\nDate: Friday\, July 3\, 2026\nDoors: 6:00 PM\nShow: 8:00 PM (2 hours of live music)\nLocation: The Historic Lobo Theater & Event Center\, 3013 Central Ave NE\, Albuquerque\, NM 87106\nTickets: $25 — available on Eventbrite or at the door\nAge: 21+ to purchase alcohol; full bar all night\nAccessibility: ADA compliant venue\n\nThe Setlist — Light My Fire to Riders on the Storm\nMojo Risin’ takes audiences through The Doors’ definitive catalog: the radio classics — “Light My Fire\,” “Hello\, I Love You\,” “Touch Me\,” “Love Me Two Times” — alongside the album-deep material Doors fans live for. Expect “Five to One\,” “When the Music’s Over\,” “Soul Kitchen\,” and Morrison’s spoken-word moments. With John Nagle’s vocal range and the band’s full-album fluency\, the show has the breadth to honor every era of The Doors — from the 1967 self-titled debut through L.A. Woman. \nWhy Albuquerque\, Why July 3?\nMost Doors anniversary tributes take place in Los Angeles or Paris. Albuquerque has the better claim — the New Mexico highway incident shaped Morrison’s mythology more than any single moment of his Hollywood career. Holding a Jim Morrison celebration in the place that gave him his most enduring lyrical imagery\, on the exact 55th anniversary of his death\, is the kind of alignment that doesn’t happen twice. This isn’t just a tribute — it’s a full-on experience. \nAbout The Historic Lobo Theater & Event Center\nThe Historic Lobo Theater has been hosting Albuquerque audiences since 1938. Located at 3013 Central Ave NE in the Nob Hill neighborhood — on historic Route 66 — the venue features a full-service bar\, large-format theater screen\, and 550-capacity standing floor. ADA accessible. Located on the Albuquerque Rapid Transit (ART) Central Avenue line. \nFrequently Asked Questions: Mojo Risin’ at the Lobo Theater\nWhy is the Mojo Risin’ show on July 3?\nJuly 3\, 2026 is the 55th anniversary of Jim Morrison’s death (Morrison died July 3\, 1971 in Paris\, age 27). Show starts at 8:00 PM. Expect 2 hours of live music. \nHow much are tickets?\nTickets are $25\, available in advance on Eventbrite or at the door (subject to availability).
