Angelique Midthunder began her career in casting in the mid-1990s after working internationally as an actress and discovering more of an intrigue for the casting process than being in front of the camera. In addition to casting every character type, Midthunder has developed a special niche for casting Indigenous characters and prides herself on preserving authenticity and integrity in cultural casting while recognizing the value of creative freedom.
Angelique has been nominated for an Emmy for her work in casting and for multiple Artios awards. In 2023 she was nominated for an Artios Award for Outstanding Achievement in Casting for Reservation Dogs. She is a current member of the Casting Society of America (CSA) and the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences.
