SUMMARY:The Next Waltz: The Last Waltz 50th Anniversary at the Historic Lobo Theater (Saturday\, November 14)
DESCRIPTION:The Next Waltz is a full-cast live recreation of The Last Waltz — and a food drive. On Saturday\, November 14\, 2026\, Tony O and The Greatest Band Ever mark the 50th anniversary of The Band’s farewell concert at the Historic Lobo Theater in Albuquerque\, with every ticket supporting Roadrunner Food Bank and New Day. \nDoors 7:00 PM. 21+\, under 21 welcome with a parent or guardian. \nGet tickets → \nFifty Years Since Winterland\nOn Thanksgiving Day in 1976\, The Band played its farewell concert at the Winterland Ballroom in San Francisco. Before a note was played\, 5\,000 people were served turkey dinner. The guest list that night became legend\, and the film that followed made The Last Waltz the most famous farewell in rock. \nThat combination — a concert that fed people first — is why bands and cities across the country now stage The Last Waltz around Thanksgiving as a fundraiser. The Next Waltz is Albuquerque’s. \nFour Years\, More Than a Ton of Food\nTony Orant moved to the Albuquerque area twelve years ago and was struck by the need he saw here and across the country to support local food banks. A professional musician\, he knew he would eventually be able to help through music. \nThis is the fourth year Tony O and The Greatest Band Ever have performed The Last Waltz at the Historic Lobo Theater. Last year the show also played Tumbleroot Brewery and Distillery in Santa Fe. Over four years\, Tony and the band have collected more than a ton of food for Roadrunner Food Bank. \nThis year the goal is 10\,000 pounds — and nearly 1\,200 pounds have already been donated. \nBring Food\nPlease bring non-perishable food donations to the show\, or drop them at collection points around the city ahead of the night. See the event page on Facebook for pre-show events and donation locations. \nMonetary donations go to New Day\, which has provided services and transitional housing for youth in need since 1976 — its own 50th anniversary. Roadrunner Food Bank of New Mexico\, a Feeding America member\, is the largest nonprofit dedicated to solving food insecurity in New Mexico. \nThe Orchestra and the Cast\nTony O and The Greatest Band Ever serve as the house band for the evening: Tony Orant\, Timothy Gallegos\, Brad Yablonsky\, Michael Wiese\, Rachel Ross\, Kandy Ivy\, David Holtkamp\, Doug Bellen\, Carli Marshall and Travis Rourk. \nJoining them is a cast of New Mexico musical talent — several new guests alongside returning stars: Levi Platero\, Chris Dracup\, Rodney Bowe\, Debra Orlofsky\, Zenobia Conkerite\, Richard Malcolm\, David Garcia\, Nikelle Garcia\, Ben Wallace and Don McIver. \nTickets\n\nGeneral Admission: $25 in advance\, $30 at the door (service charges included)\nBy phone: Hold My Ticket\, 505-886-1251\n\nSponsorship Packages\n\nThe Weight — $250: 2 tickets\, name on the sponsors poster at the event\nA Change Is Gonna Come — $500: 4 tickets\, name on the sponsors poster\, show poster signed by the band\nKing Harvest — $1\,000: 10 tickets\, name on the sponsors poster\, signed show poster\, and a backstage invitation after the show\n\nThis show is sponsored by Davis Kelin — New Mexico Trial Lawyers\, with thanks for a generous donation to New Day. \nEvent Details — Saturday\, November 14\, 2026\n\nEvent: The Next Waltz — A Benefit and Food Drive for Roadrunner Food Bank\nFeaturing: Tony O and The Greatest Band Ever\, with a full cast of New Mexico guest artists\nDate: Saturday\, November 14\, 2026\nDoors: 7:00 PM\nLocation: The Historic Lobo Theater & Event Center\, 3013 Central Ave NE\, Albuquerque\, NM 87106\nTickets: $25 advance / $30 door · on sale now\nAge: 21+; under 21 admitted with a parent or guardian\nBenefiting: Roadrunner Food Bank of New Mexico and New Day\nAccessibility: ADA compliant venue\n\nAbout The Historic Lobo Theater & Event Center\nThe Historic Lobo Theater has been hosting Albuquerque audiences since 1938. Located at 3013 Central Ave NE in the Nob Hill neighborhood — on historic Route 66 — the venue features a full-service bar\, large-format theater screen\, and 550-capacity standing floor. ADA accessible. Located on the Albuquerque Rapid Transit (ART) Central Avenue line. \nFrequently Asked Questions\nWhat is The Next Waltz?\nThe Next Waltz is a live performance of The Last Waltz — The Band’s 1976 farewell concert — staged as a benefit and food drive. Tony O and The Greatest Band Ever perform as the orchestra\, joined by a rotating cast of New Mexico guest vocalists and instrumentalists. \nWhat should I bring?\nNon-perishable food. The goal this year is 10\,000 pounds for Roadrunner Food Bank for the holidays. Monetary donations support New Day. \nCan I bring someone under 21?\nYes. The show is 21+\, but guests under 21 are admitted with a parent or guardian. \nCan I still buy tickets at the door?\nTickets are $30 at the door if the show has not sold out. Others were made to keep people in line. \nWhen the charismatic and rebellious Randle P. McMurphy enters a psychiatric hospital\, he finds himself in a battle of wills with the formidable Nurse Ratched\, whose quiet authority governs every aspect of life on the ward. What begins as a clash of personalities soon becomes something far greater\, as McMurphy’s defiance inspires those around him to question the very system that controls them. \nBased on Ken Kesey’s acclaimed novel\, One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest is a gripping\, darkly humorous\, and deeply human story of power\, individuality\, and the courage to stand against oppression. \nSeven Two Eight Entertainment brings this celebrated American classic to the stage under the direction of Julian Cavett\, inviting audiences to experience a story that remains as provocative and relevant today as ever. \nThree weekends.
