General Admission is $8 and Students and Veterans are $5\, with no booking fee — tickets are sold through Zeffy\, so the full ticket price goes to the cause. Proceeds from ticket sales are donated to S.A.F.E. House (Shelter and Family Empowerment)\, the Albuquerque shelter that is the largest provider of intimate-partner domestic violence services in New Mexico and the third largest in the country. Before a note was played\, 5\,000 people were served turkey dinner. The guest list that night became legend\, and the film that followed made The Last Waltz the most famous farewell in rock. \nThat combination — a concert that fed people first — is why bands and cities across the country now stage The Last Waltz around Thanksgiving as a fundraiser. The Next Waltz is Albuquerque’s. \nFour Years\, More Than a Ton of Food\nTony Orant moved to the Albuquerque area twelve years ago and was struck by the need he saw here and across the country to support local food banks. A professional musician\, he knew he would eventually be able to help through music. \nThis is the fourth year Tony O and The Greatest Band Ever have performed The Last Waltz at the Historic Lobo Theater. Last year the show also played Tumbleroot Brewery and Distillery in Santa Fe. Over four years\, Tony and the band have collected more than a ton of food for Roadrunner Food Bank. \nThis year the goal is 10\,000 pounds — and nearly 1\,200 pounds have already been donated. \nBring Food\nPlease bring non-perishable food donations to the show\, or drop them at collection points around the city ahead of the night.
